National Academy of Public Administration

Fall 2021

Rachel Krause, Associate Professor in the KU School of Public Affairs and Administration is being recognized with a Sustainability Leadership Award for her research, coursework, and governmental collaborations around sustainability and environmental policies. Krause's courses in policy analysis and urban policy examine complex sustainability and environmental policies, and her research on issues of sustainability, environmental management, and climate policy result in providing invaluable information to local governments to augment decision-making around key sustainability policies and practices. The words of her nominator summarize Krause’s commitment to sustainability: “She is an advocate for students, especially those traditionally underrepresented in academia...Rachel has modeled the exemplar faculty member and champion of sustainability I strive to be.”

Rachel Krause, associate professor in the School of Public Affairs and Administration, was not surprised earlier this month when President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. was pulling out of the Paris climate agreement.
